About the Throckmorton surname

I am interested in EARLY VIRGINIA history and that of Sir William THROCKMORTON whose mother was ELIZABETH BERKLEY. These names: THROCKMORTON & BERKLEY had rather prominent connection to early Virginia history. Since the PACE family also had connection to early Jamestown, Williamsburg history, and that of nearby MIDDLESEX County, Virginia of the latter 1600s (this part-through DNA evidence) of my direct PACE ancestry - I am working on some historical documentation for the PACE SOCIETY of America. This also involves the BENNETT family, RANDOLPH, CARTER, BLAND, LEE and others. I also have BENNETT ancestry. At this point - I DO NOT claim connection to the BENNETTs of the ISLE of WIGHT plantation on the JAMES RIVER but my Bennett ancestry does connect with the THROCKMORTON family ancestral home at COUGHTON COURT in Warwickshire. These facts of ancestral history and that of early colonial Virginia may be fascinating to history folk - hence I am working on putting together some of the facts pertaining to this part of our combined US - UK ancestral history. Sincerely, Gordon Thomas Pace, ONtario,Canada

Sir Thomas Throckmorton of Coughton Court (1412 - 1472) is my 16th Great Grandfather.
