

Abigail (Pettibone) Phelps Strong was born on April 22, 1706 and died on October 16, 1787 at age 80. She was first married to Lt. David Phelps. They are the parents of David, Elisha, and Noah Phelps. She married second Deacon David Strong.

A memorial plaque to Abigail Pettibone Phelps Strong is located in the Hop Meadow Cemetery, Simsbury, Hartford County, Connecticut. It is dedicated by the Abigail Phelps Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, on their 110th anniversary. It is an honor worthy of posting here.
The plaque notes that Abigail and Lt. David Phelps are the parents of David, Elisha, and Noah Phelps. Their sons were distinguished officers who served in the American Revolution. The sons are buried in Hop Meadow Cemetery.
The plaque also notes that Abigail is buried with her second husband, Deacon David Stong, in Bolton, Tolland County, Connecticut.
