Skevik is a yard west of Steinkjær in North Trøndelag, Norway, 64.044 N 11.306 E. The three small islands directly south of the yard are called the Skevik Islands locally. Today's Skevik's derive from Karl Andreassen Skevik *Oct 10 1846 +March 6 1929. He took the name Skevik from living on the yard. His father was Andreas Knudsen. He is probably not related to the much older Skevik person mentioned here. Although the name may mean Spoon Bay, it may derive from SkeidVik, where Skeid is a decision like in a court case or law making. Skevik may have been a place for such gatherings. On the other side, Skevik lies just adjahent to a small spoon-shaped bay. Both nameforms Skje- and Ske- are in use, probably for different families.
