The progenitor of the Keen name, in Pennsylvania, was Juran Keen 1620-1690. He was born in Saxony, joined the Swedish army, arrived in Pennsylvania with colonial governor Printz in1643. Joran Keen's original name was Jurgen Schneewiess, changed to Kuhn [bold in German]; finally Keen, when Quakers arrived with William Penn, Founder of Pennsylvania.
