William Robert Durrant was apparently the male name for 4 generations from the UK emigrating to Canada. The early Durrant surnames appears to have been common in Great Yarmouth. Robert Durrant was one of the earliest generation and it was his Robert that became the middle name of the following 4 generation, and my middle name "Robert" would be the 5th. Apparently the naming conventions were very formal at one time in genealogical history.
