William de was born circa 1228 at Bewsey Hall, Warrington, Lancashire, England. He may have been born about 1222 per Gen-Medieval-L postings. He was the Sheriff of Lancaster 1258-59 & Governor of Lancaster Castle. [Complete Peerage] William FitzAlmeric le Boteler built Bewsey Hall in Warrington, on the site of a monastic grange.
He served as the High Sheriff of Lancashire in 1259. Some say that he was a knight and eligible to carry arms and show these arms.

Died at The Siege Of Caerlaverock that took place in July, 1300, between King Edward I and the Maxwell Family (Scottish Wars of Independence)
