Sir William Venables, Knight, eldest son, appears in a grant to his brother Hugh about 1188. To this deed he affixes a seal, representing a Lion Rampant sinister. He had license for a domestic chapel at Merston for himself and wife from Andrew, Prior of Newton. He lived in the 12th year of Henry III, 1228.

Ancestry

Gilbert de Venables baron of Kynderton, died in reign of Henry II. He married Margery, dau of Walthew son of Wolfric, Lord of Hatton.

Their son was Sir William de Venables, baron of Kynderton, 1188, lived until 1228. His wife's name not known.

In addition to the eldest son Hugh there were: Robert de Venables, parson of Rosthorne, died 44 Hen III; William and Hamon.
