Notes

Events for Tobias Phillips and Peggy Jennings, as well as attribution as parents of Molly, from 6-generation Pedigree chart for Andrew Quesenberry on p. 71, Vol. 5, No. 3, May 1991, Cox-Phillips Newsletter. See also profile of Tobias Phillips on pages 2-5 of The Genealogy of William Tobias Phillips, by Elza Cox, 1989.

The birthdate of 1749/1750 does not mean that his date of birth is uncertain (it is recorded in the North Farnham parish register), but rather that it was in the period of transition when it was ambiguous as to whether January belonged to the previous year or the coming one.

Tobias' will, written 12 Feb 1806, proven in March 1809, recorded in Grayson Co. Will Book 1, p. 60. This will is copied in full on pp. 4-5 of Elza's book.
