Note* In 1369 William Fortescue and Nicholas Fortescue granted rights to the manors of Orcheston, North Allington, some in Tenhed etc to a Sir John Prideaux. in 1369.

Note* William is probably the John William mentioned in the text as being the husband of Elizabeth in a will. By now William had estates in Wimstone, Holberton, Strechleigh, Forsan, Cokesland, Broke, Donstan, Tamerton, Smytheston, Wimpell, Thurveton, and Estecot, all thought to be in S. Devon. He also had the manor of Ryme in Dorset.

Elizabeth was the daughter of: Sir John Beauchamp, Knight and heir, born about 1315, died 8 April 1349, Lord of Ryme, Dorsetshire and of Oburnford, Oulescombe, Teignhervy and Buckerell, Devonshire. He married first about 1340 Margaret, daughter of John Whalesburgh.
