Sophia was a woman of the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin

Biography:
Sophia was born on December 25, 1863 to unknown parents. She married Joseph Pecore before 1905 but they had no children.

According to the book Vanished in Hiawatha, author Carla Joinson states that Sophia was first committed from the Keshna Agency, Wisconsin on September 14, 1919, discharged on September 20 1920, but readmitted on January 11, 1921. It appears that she died in the Canton Asylum in c. 1922. Her husband Joseph was remarried in 1923 to Rachel Lawe.

There is no diagnosis indicated for her initial commitment in 1919 nor her re-commitment in 1921.
