Sir Thomas Southworth, Knight, is a direct decendent and bloodline of the kings of England, Scotland, France, and Norse Kings from Denmark/Norway.

Thomas' identified family bloodline runs to the Plantagenet kings through the strong Southworth family line, starting with English King Edward III (Thomas' 5th Great Grandfather), and traveling through the English manarchy to Kings Edward II (Plantagenet) and Edward I (Plantagenet) "Longshanks" of England (reign 1272-1307ad) Sir Thomas' 7th great grandfather. Through this bloodline Sir Thomas Southworth is a direct decendent and blood line of the House of Mercia, House of Wessex, House of Normandy, and the House of Plantagenet (Angevin). (King Edward I of England; King Edward II; King Edward III; Edmund Plantagenet, KG, of Langley, 1st Duke of York; Constance Plantagenet, Duchess of Gloucester; Eleanor (de Holland) Tuchet, Baroness of Audley; Anne Margaret (Tuchet) Dutton; Isabelle (Dutton) de Southworth; Sir Jon De Southworth; Sir Thomas Southworth.

Separately, Sir Thomas Southworth's wife Margery (Boteler) Southworth's bloodline also ties directly into the Plantagenet English Kings from King Edward I "Longshanks" (her 6th Great Grandfather).

Biographical notes

From "Southworths in England" (Webber, 1913) page 413:

Sir Thomas, son and heir of Sir John, first married Ann Stanly, from whom he was divorced; he married, second, Margery Boteler, daughter of Thomas Boteler. He restored Samlesbury Hall in 1532, and erected the minstrels' gallery. He also built the southeast wing, which forms the main part of the structure, and completed it in 1545. He was at the battle of Flodden, 9 Sept., 1513, and in one of the ballards is alluded to as

"The sad Southworth that ever was sure."

He was high sheriff of the county in 1542. On several occasions he was a member of commissions to hear testimony and decide as to the truth in certain legal cases. He seems to have been of an arbitrary disposition and unpleasant to deal with, a man of strong will, who was determined to have his orders obeyed where he had a right to command.
