Sarah John Chernikoff, daughter of Nicholas Chernikoff and Mary Hozen, was born in California on February 16, 1915. Her parents were Russian immigrants. She was one of eight children, three born in Russia and the rest in California. Sarah married John William Lazootin, son of William Safonich Lazootin and wife Martha Prakopinva Reshatoff. They had two children. Sarah was living in Cupertino, Santa Clara County, California at the time of her death on January 19, 2010. She is buried in the Russian Sectarian Cemetery, Colma, San Mateo County, California.
