His Will, dated 12 August 1689 and proved in Court 7 April 1690, Stafford Co. VA.
"The Will book for this period in Stafford Co. is missing. We(Roy), have the index to the book only and the Court orders for that time. Deeds of the descendants of this Robert (2), in their transfers of lands which they held from bequests made in his will, give the references to him and establish their line of descent from him. It has seem less confusing in arrangement of this lineage to place the abstracts of all of these records in the appendix for comparison and examination."

SOURCE: Stafford County, Virginia, Deeds and Will Abstracts, p. 156-156a, 1689-1693 by Ruth and Sam Sparacio. NOTE: This will of Robert King shows that three Bowling men are his grandchildren. This is an abstract of the original document. The person trying to read the original couldn’t read the name of the person listed before William. I suspect this missing person is Simon Bowling Jr. Robert Kings wife’s name is Mary which is proven by another document. When you look at the girls names in the will, the one name that is missing is “Mary”. Since Mary is deceased at the time of the will, grandfather Robert King is leaving her share to her four sons. Keep in mind that Robert King lived next door to Simon Bowling Sr.
A different Robert King:
The will was dated 25 September 1693 and proved November 1693. The will of Robert King was presented to the Court of Westmoreland Co., Virginia in 1693 by Alexander Spence acting as attorney for Johanna King, the widow & relict of said Robert King. This is the father of Robert King died 1690.
