Robert Elliott, Jr.

And I see yet another mixup between the various Robert Elliots. Elizabeth Kemp married to a Robert Elliott in Virginia, not to the Robert who married Mary Johnston.

Robert Elliott Jr., b. 1735 Enniskillen, Fermanagh Ireland; son of Robert T. Elliot and Mary Rainey; and living in 1768; when his father mentions him in his will Proven June 7, 1768, in Middleton, Cumberland Co., Pennsylvania; Robert Elliot Jr., would have been about 33 years old when his father died; his father leaving him 5 shillings in his will; I give and bequeath unto my son Robert Eliot five shillings and no more...'[1]; filed in Cumberland Co., Pennsylvania; Register of Wills[2][3]

Dr David Elliot, son of Thomas Elliot, grandson of Robert Elliot (1695-1768), wrote a Memoranda in 1872 on the ancestors and descendants of Robert Elliot; and says he recalls very little on Robert Elliot Jr., and his brother William, and believes they both moved to North or South Carolina at a young age; and overtime, communication between the families had been lost.[9]If this is correct, Robert Elliot would have moved after 1762; where his name appears on the 1762 taxables for Middleton, Cumberland Co., Pennsylvania; assuming both Robert Jr's are one and the same.
