Richard Jesper (or Jasper), son of John Jasper and his wife Sarah Shepherd, was born about 1637. There's no birth record. He was born either in Redgrave, Suffolk, England, or at North Farnham Parish in Virginia. Richard died before 3 March 1703 in North Farnham Parish, Richmond County, Virginia, when his estate was probated.

Richard Jesper married Mary (unknown) about 1657 in Old Rappahannock County, Virginia. Their known children:

1. daughter Jesper "Mary" b. abt 1662 in North Farnham Parish. Married Richard Dudley.
2. Thomas Jesper (b. bef 1678) (d.y.)

Mary (unknown) Jesper died 1680 in Richmond County.

Richard Jesper married 2nd to Sarah (unknown) about 1680 in North Farnham Parish, Richmond County, Virginia. Their known children:

1. Anne Jasper born on Oct. 8. 1682 (d.y.)
2. Sarah Jesper, born after 1683.
3. Richard Jasper born April 21, 1687. Married Anne.
4. Thomas Jesper, born Oct. 2, 1689. Married 1) Anne Lewis. 2) Sarah Taylor.

Richard Jesper married Henry Clarke's widow, Elizabeth, after Henry's death in 1700/1701.

Richard Jesper wrote his will on 11 June 1698, and it was probated on 3 March 1702/03. He named his children Thomas, Richard, and Sarah (underage); and grandchildren William Dudley and Mary Dudley.
