Notes for Richard Jackson, Sr:
- Richard Jackson was born say 1561, and was probably the man of that name buried at Paignton, Devon, 23 July 1625 (FHL microfilm, reel 917, 212). He married, probably about 1584, Elizabeth ___, who as wife of Richard Jackson was buried at Paignton 11 May 1624 (ibid).
- Richard Jackson seems to have moved from Brixham shortly after 1587 and into Paignton, four miles away, in 1599 or shortly before. In 1602 when he was named administrator of the estate of his brother Thomas, he was called a cordiner of Paignton. The last two of his children to marry --- apparently after their father's death --- did so in the parish of St. Saviour, Dartmouth, where perhaps they were living with their older brother, Richard, whose whereabouts at this time are not known.
