JOHN GEORGE1 DAHMER (NATHANA DAUGHMER) was born April 09, 1775 in Baden, Germany, and died May 10, 1842 in Pendleton Co., Virginia. He married (1) MARY ELIZABETH HARTMAN 1796, daughter of GEORGE HARTMAN and ANNA WOLF. She was born Abt. 1772, and died Bef. 1810 in Pendleton Co., Virginia. He married (2) NANCY SKIDMORE November 20, 1810 in Pendleton Co., West Virginia. She was born January 10, 1775, and died July 10, 1856 in Pendleton Co., West Virginia.

Dahmer is an unincorporated community located in Pendleton County, West Virginia, USA. Established in 1896, Dahmer is the only place in the United States bearing this name. Its post office was discontinued December 1, 1941.

Dahmer, the town was named after the Dahmer family headed by John George Dahmer and Nancy Skidmore Dahmer. John George Dahmer was born in Germany and arrived in the United States in 1792. Nancy Skidmore was the daughter of the well known Revolutionary War Captain Skidmore.
