Queen Ragnhild the Mighty lived three years after she came to Norway; and, after her death, her son and King Harald's was taken to the herse Thorer Hroaldson, and Eirik was fostered by him.

Ragnhild Eriksdotter, "den mäktiga", född omkring 870, död 897, var drottning av Norge och gift med kung Harald Hårfager. Mor till Erik Blodyx. Inte mycket är känt om Ragnhild. Enligt Snorre kallades hon "Ragnhild den mäktiga" och dog tre år efter att sonen Erik fötts. Hon var dotter till kung Erik på Jylland. Någon sådan kung är inte känd från andra källor. De äldre norska sagorna nämner inte Ragnhild. Moderna historiker har valt att trots detta lita på Snorre emedan han hade tillgång till äldre källmaterial i form av skaldedikter från Harald Hårfagers tid.
