Son of Denis Caughlin (1847-1910) and Bridget Caughlin (b. 1852, Surrey, England), of 9 Steyne Road, Acton, London, England. Hotel porter. Brother John Patrick Caughlin killed at Gallipoli on 8 August 1915. New Zealand Medical Corps 3/1763. Died of wounds at the No. 3 Canadian Casualty Clearing Station in Belgium on 13 October 1917. Age 24.
