Prince Fahd bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud

Prince Fahd bin Salman bin Abdulaziz (1954 - July 25, 2001) was a member of the Saudi Arabia royal family, the son of the Governor of Riyadh Province, Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz. After graduating from King Saud University in Riyadh, Prince Fahd studied business administration in the United States. On his return to the Kingdom, he joined the Ministry of Interior, and served as Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province from 1406-1412 H [1986 to 1991]. From then until his death he was in private business, and also served as Secretary-General of the charitable association for kidney failure patients.

Thoroughbred horse racing

Prince Fahd bin Salman's younger brother, Prince Ahmed bin Salman owned the renowned racing stable The Thoroughbred Corp. and introduced him to the sport of Thoroughbred horse racing. Prince Fahd bin Salman then acquired his own stable of Thoroughbred racehorses in the United Kingdom and established Newgate Stud in Dorset. His greatest success came with the colt Generous whose victories included the 1991 Epsom Derby, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes, and the Irish Derby.
Prince Fahd bin Salman's father-in-law, Prince Khalid Abdullah, owns the prominent racing and breeding operation, Juddmonte Farms.
