Paul Dishington of Ardross

Paul Dishington of Ardross, son of William Dishington, fiar of Ardross, married, in 1543, Catherine, daughter of Walter Lundin de eodem by whom he had two daughters, Margaret and Jean, who at his death became wards of the Earl of Arran, and were by him married to two gentlemen of his house. Margaret's husband was James Hamilton of Rouchbank, fifth son of Gavin Hamilton 'of Orbiston, who was one of those who in 1568 assisted the escape of Queen Mary from Lochleven. Jean Dishington married Gavin Hamilton of Raploch (who died before 1593).
