Brenin Ddyfed Owain ap Maredudd o Ddyfed was born circa 771.1 He was the son of Brenin Ddyfed Maredudd ap Tewdws o Ddyfed.1,2 Brenin Ddyfed Owain ap Maredudd o Ddyfed was the successor of Brenin Ddyfed Triffyn II ap Rhein o Ddyfed; King of Dyfed.5 King of Dyfed at South Wales between 810 and 811.5 Brenin Ddyfed Owain ap Maredudd o Ddyfed died in 811. He was the last male descendent of Aed Brosc, the leader of the Deisi from Ireland, who were settled by the existing Roman authorities in the Demetian region by 382.1,2,3,6 He was the predecessor of Brenin Ddyfed Hyfaidd o Ddyfed; King of Dyfed.3,5
