Gibson>Gipson>Saponi Native Americans of VA>NC By Frances Franklin November 04, 2007
In reply to: Re: Gibson>Gipson>Saponi Native Americans of VA>NC Marion Pezzullo 11/03/07
Joanne,
My Nathan GIBSON-GIPSON was on the mortality schedule for Macon, NC in 1860. He was born circa 1775 in Burke, NC and he was married to Lucretia (Cresy) ELLISON-ALLISON b. abt. 1777 in VA d. aft. 1860 in NC.
I have four children for them:
- Francis (female) b.?
- George b.?
- John b. abt. 1804 in Buncombe, NC
- Margaret b. bet. 1816-1820 in Buncombe, NC
I have been searching along with others for years as to the parentage of my Nathan GIPSON-GIBSON. If Stephen GIBSON-GIPSON was my Nathan's father how can we prove this? You say Stephen's father came from England. I know that my GIBSON line were of mixed race. This could have come from the women they married.

As you can see all except Cresa are listed as Mulatto. I do not live in NC and am unable to go there to do any research. Finding info on this family has been very difficult. I would appreciate any help.
