About Moses Bingen

Moses Bing and his family were issued a permit to live in Mainz (Vilzbach) in 1517. His wife (we have no way of knowing if she was his only wife) was a daughter of the above Meir Wirsler. Moses’s sons, Meir and Isaac are presumably by her, and Judde (=12 IX 1581 HO 284 Epidat ffb-906) is definitely by her. We can’t be sure whether Getschlik, who is older, was by a different mother or not. Probably not, but we must keep that possibility open.
Meir Bing, son of Moses of Mainz, is the one who is filed in Ele Toldot under =um 1559. However, he actually died no later than Feb 1558, when the guardianships were set up for his children. He was married to Gutte through about 1549. She appears to be the mother of his children, with the probable exception of Suskind, who is still a minor in 1558 and may be the son of Roeslin, since both seem to move to the Kanne after Meir's death. The guardians of Meir's orphans were Meir's brother, Getschlik z Fisch, and (possibly a relative of Gutte) Isaac Deggingen, and (possibly Roeslin's brother?) Suskind z Strauss.
