Jonathan Hill either married before coming to this country or upon his arrival. His wife was named Mary, but nothing further is known of her. THe Hills and Allens lived on Prudence Island and acquired large estates, until the war of the Revolution, when with many others they were stripped of their livestock and everything else of value. Every house, barn and haystack was burned by order of Captain Wallace, a British officer in command of the fleet in Narragansett Bay, Sir Peter Parker being Lord Admiral. The Hills and Allens were obliged to leave their homes on the Island for less costly homes on the mainland.[1]

Jonathan and Mary had three children:

1. Robert, married Mary Pearce
2. Jonathan, born 1657; married Unknown
3. Henry, born 24 June 1661 at Kingstown, RI; married Elizabeth. Had daughter Mary Hill, who married 23 June 1729 William Nichols.[1]

Jonathan died before 1690.[1]
