Margaret Freville was born circa 1400 at of Tamworth, Middleton, Marston & Lea (both in Lea Marston), & Stratford juxta Tamworth, Warwickshire, England; Age 17 in 1418, age 20 in 1420.3,7 She was the daughter of Sir Baldwin IV Freville and Maud le Scrope (d. a. 1418).

She married Sir Hugh Willoughby, Sheriff of Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, & Lincolnshire, son of Edmond Willoughby and Isabel Annesley, before 1418; his second wife. He was Isabella Foljambe‘s widower.

They had 5 sons (Sir Robert; John; Baldwin; Henry; & Ralph) and 6 daughters (Isabel, wife of Philip Boteler, Gent., & of John Bessingby; Joyce, wife of Richard Bracebridge; Maud; Alice; Margery, wife of Sir Godfrey Hilton, & of William Walron; & Eleanor, wife of John Shirley, Esq.)2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10
