MAJOR DAVID STEUART OF STEUARTHALL

Major David Steuart of Steuarthall, here treated, is the son of Robert Steuart of Steuarthall and his wife Helen Buchanan He was born on 19 March 1830, at Glasgow in Lanarkshire, and baptised at Steuarthall in St. Ninians parish on 4 June 1830. His baptism was registered at Saint Ninians parish in Stirlingshire, Scotland. His baptismal entry reads as follows: "Born at Glasgow 19th March 1830 Baptised at Steuarthall 4th June 1830. [Parents] Robert Steuart Esqr Steuarthall [and] Helen Steuart [Child's Name] David [Witnesses] William Murray Esqr of Polmaise Maxwell Gord on Esqr".
