Lola E. Kuyper, 55, Zimmerman, died Tuesday, Jan. 12, at the Mercy Medical Center, Coon Rapids.
Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 15, at the Christian Reformed Church, Pease, with Pastor Kevin Johnson officiating. Music was provided by Lois Roeloff, organist, and Kris Hancuch, soloist.
Pallbearers were Fred Christopherson, Curt Kiel, John Overgaauw, Wendel Gordon, Frank Kitterman and Larry Wendorf.
Burial was in the Pease Cemetery, Pease.
Lola E. Kuyper was born on Aug. 1, 1937, in Fountain Prairie Township, Pipestone County, to Harold and Edna (Beyers) Buffington. She grew up and attended school in Pipestone County graduating from Pipestone High School in 1955. She married John Kuyper on Aug. 5, 1955, in Pipestone. The couple lived in Holland before moving to Minneapolis where they lived until 1973. From Minneapolis, they moved to Zimmerman. Her husband died in 1979. She worked as a secretary for Advance Companies, Fridley, for the past 10 years. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, horses, snowmobiling, camping and fishing. For the past several years, she had spent 10 days each winter in Florida with friends.
Survivors include her son, Steven, Zimmerman; daughter Becky (Gary) Liddle, Coon Rapids; three grandchildren; and five brothers, Delbert of Pipestone, Wallace of Walters, Okla., Lester of Holland, Roger of Dickinson, N.D., and Arlen of Mesa, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.--Pipestone County Star, Thursday, Jan. 21, 1993
