Leopold Teschner

LEOPOLD [JEHUDA LOBL] TESCHNER, aka LEBLL ARON, b. Prossnitz, c1745, was the son of Aron Singer-Teschner and wife Rosalia. Although he lived in Trencin megye [county], Hungary, he appears to have maintained a close connection with the Jewish religious community in Prossnitz.

He later moved to Bittse, Trencin megye [now Bytca, Slovakia] where he is seen in census records in 1795, 1808, and 1818.

He d. in Bittse in mid-1818.

His wife was Eva [Euphemia], b. Prossnitz, 1741, dau of Cheskel [Jechezkiel] [Jacob] Rausnitz. She was apparently visiting her family in Prossnitz when her death occurred in Sep 1791: “Eva aus Hungaria [Eva from Hungary], age 50, d. household #34, 8 Sep 1791.” Following Eva’s death, Leopold was married to a second wife [name unknown] prior to 1795.
