He went by E.L. Frum and his family called him Latorus. He married the love of his life, Georgia Elizabeth Selvey, on the 26th of January, 1926 in Oakland, Garrett County, Maryland. The marriage certificate is signed by Henry A. Grubbs, Minister of the Gospel.

He was a devoted father to Marty and Richard and had only one grandchild, Joan Elizabeth, who moved to California with her mother when she was about 3 years old. Sadly, he never saw her again.

Latorus was an accountant and lived a quiet life in the Webster community of Taylor County. He smoked a pipe, took great pride in his lawn and his garden, loved fishing, tinkering in his upstairs workshop repairing things, vacations in Florida, and the family dog, a Boston Terrier named Cab Calloway.

He was a Baptist and carried small books of poetry, wrote numerous letters, collected quotes and left stacks of journals written in very small, neat printing. One of these detailed his work history:

1924-1925 Mountain State Business College

1925-1929 Grafton Banking & Trust Co.

1929-1932 First National Bank

1932-1935 Taylor County Board of Education

1935-1940 Tygart Valley Chevrolet Co.

1940-1941 Dean Motor Co.

1941-May 1942 Wilson Motor Co.

May 1942- May 1950 Wendel Coal Co.

May 1950- Sept 1950 Sinsel Coal Co.

Sept 1950- Nov 1952 Wendel Coal Co.

Nov 1952- Sept. 1953 Denton Motor Co.

Sept 1953- Sept 1956 Wendel Coal Co.

Sept 1956- Sept 1957 Wendel Coal Co. (new owner)

Sept 9, 1957- West Virginia Industrial School [last entry]

Note: E. L. Frum served as business manager at the W. V. Industrial School for Boys, now called the West Virginia Industrial Home for Youth at the Pruntytown Correctional Center. (see photo in media tab) The Pruntytown Correctional Center is located at Pruntytown near the city of Grafton in Taylor County. The Pruntytown Correctional Center was originally established as the West Virginia Industrial School for Boys in 1891 and served as a juvenile facility until being closed in January of 1983. At that time, the juveniles were transferred to the West Virginia Industrial Home for Youth near Salem..
