Born at Huntly Castle. Lady Elizabeth Gordon of Huntly "Heiress of Gordon" endowed the building of St. Mary's Chapel. She was buried before the altar upon her death. Born at Huntley Castle, she died in Strathbogie. Daughter of Sir Adam Gordon, Lord of Gordon and Elizabeth Keith of Aboyne & Cluny. Wife of Alexander Seton, Lord Gordon, Mother of Elizabeth Seton; Alexander Gordon (Seton), 1st Earl of Huntly; William Seton, Baron Meldrum; Katherine Janet Dunbar; Henry Seton and 1 other Sister of John Gordon. She was a Scottish baroness and progenitress of the Gordon Earls and Marquesses of Huntly. Elizabeth married Alexander Seton, who in 1406 was a prisoner along with the future king James I of Scotland. In 1428, Alexander and Elizabeth were granted a dispensation from the pope long after their marriage when it was determined they were within the forbidden degrees of consanguinity. Elizabeth died at Strathbogie (now Huntly) on 16 March 1439 while Alexander died in 144041. Elizabeth was buried at St. Nicholas Church in Aberdeen.
