Jose Matias LONGORIA Chapa was born in 1724 in Cerralvo, Nuevo Leon, New Spain.430 He died in 1798 at the age of 74 in Camargo, Tamaulipas, New Spain. He signed a will on 3 April 1798 in Camargo, Tamaulipas, Mexico.868 Archived in Book 20, Mark I, Protocol of Public Instruments of Camargo. Jose was buried.2331 He is buried in the "plaza vieja" of Camargo, on the west side. Parents: Juan Diego LONGORIA Garcia and Maria Clara de CHAPA.

Spouse: Maria Margarita HINOJOSA Lopez. Maria Margarita HINOJOSA Lopez and Jose Matias LONGORIA Chapa were married in 1746.430 The Camargo Census of May 31, 1750, showed Matias married to Margarita Hinojosa and they they had 2 children: Joseph (3) and Joseph Ramon (a child in arms).

The Camargo Census of July 12, 1757, indicated that Matias was ill, that he and Margarita de Hinojosa were married with 5 children, and that he had all arms and 10 horses.
