About John Lashley
John Lashley came to Bedford county from near Washington, D. C., very early, and settled in Southampton township. He married Naomi Fisher, and was the father of ten children: Robert, John, Arnold, Asa, Nancy (Johnson) and Elizabeth (Fletcher)-- all deceased by 1884; William and Sarah (Baker)-- living in 1884. Arnold Lashley was born in 1802, and died in 1875. He was one of the early settlers of Mann township, and cleared the farm on which his son, Daniel K. lived in 1884. Daniel K. Lashley served in the Civil War in Co. D, 55th regt., Penn. Vols. He mustered in in Oct., 1861 and mustered out in the fall of 1864. Mr. Lashley held several township offices in Mann Twp.
