About John J. Scrivner

John Jasper Scrivner was born on August 13, 1905 in Oklahoma to parents John Francis Scrivner (1873 - 1941) and Emma Corhn Scrivner (1877 - 1959). He had one sibling, older sister Madora Ann Scrivner Gindhart (1901 - 1990).

In the 1910 United States Federal Census, he was living in Columbia River, Franklin County, Washington. In 1920, he was in Hanford, Benton County, Washington. In 1930, he was in Eugene, Lane County, Oregon.

On August 2, 1931, he married Margaret Isobel Schaefer in Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon. Together, they had one child, the future Dr. Stanley J. Scrivner, born c. 1939.

Margaret died on September 12, 1979. John was married for a second time, on November 29, 1980, to Delores Kamno Scrivner.

John died on March 6, 1997 at the age of 91 and was buried at the Old Scotch Church Cemetery in Hillsboro, Washington County, Oregon, next to his first wife.

The following was printed on the Oregonian newspaper on March 8, 1997:

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 1997, in the Old Scotch Church Cemetery in Hillsboro for John J. Scrivner, who died March 6 at age 91.
