John Bogle of Hamilton's Farm is the son of Patrick Bogle of Hamilton's Farm and his wife, the Honourable Graham Christian Crawford. He was born on 22 January 1748 and his baptism was registered on 26 January 1748, at Rutherglen in Lanarkshire, Scotland. His baptismal record reads as follows: "Patrick Bogle & Graham Christian Crauford a l s John born the 22d near 10 at night Wit. Provost Murdoch, Colin Dunlop". John Bogle of Hamilton's Farm is reported to have died on 24 February 1778. Matriculation Albums of Glasgow University, entry number 1938 on p. 60 His uncle William Bogle gave up his testament dative on 30 July 1778.
