James Westbrook’s approximate birth year is revealed in a 1694 deposition in which he is recorded as being 45 years old, see Deposition of James Westbrook, recorded 1 December 1694, Henrico County, Virginia Record Book, Book 5 (1688-1697), p. 533.

Family

Often listed as the son of Thomas Westbrook and Joane Aylett, but there are no supporting sources for this.

2.JAMES WESTBROOK, SR. was born Abt. 1649 in England, and died in 1711 in Prince George County, VA, where his will was written and probated. He married Unk 1st Wife Abt. 1671-74.

James migrated in 1670-71 to Virginia.......James is listed as one of five headrights by James Hall in a 1674 grant. He is the founder of the Westbrook Family in the Southern Part of the United States.

Easterly Potomack River, Northerly upon the creek called Capawansick, Westerly upon the main woods and said land being due them by and for the importation of 37 persons into this colony.)
