Further research is warranted to prove this James' descent from Sir Patrick and Janet. Detachment from Sir Patrick and Janet requested here on July 10, 2021.

Date and place of birth have also been (erroneously?) reported to be February 13, 1632 at Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
Date and place of marriage - presumably to Elizabeth - have been erroneously reported to be June 10, 1744 at Spotsylvania, Frederick County, Virginia.
