About Isaac Mylin Herr
Isaac Herr, Hans Herr's son, arrived in America in 1717, and settled about one mile south of present-day Refton, PA. Isaac is probably buried in the Bowman Cemetery near his home. His name was listed as "Hare" on his will, probated in January 1, 1748, and listing three children, Henry, Anne and Elizabeth. Many researchers have named Catharine Herr as another daughter, unnamed in the will. [Jane Evans Best, "Martin Kendig's Swiss Relatives," Pennsylvania Mennonite Heritage 15 (January, 1992), 2-18, at 16, person HH15.]
On October 12, 1719, ABRAHAM HERR and his brother, Hans, petitioned James Steel for a grant of 400 acres for their brother, Isaac, who had recently arrived. In the 1720s, according to the estimates of architectural historians, he built a house that still stands at 25 Bentley Lane in Lancaster Township near Millersville on land that went to his son, Rudy."
