Hildur Juliana Elisabeth syntyi Dragsfjärdin Taalintehtaalla 15.2.1910. Isä lähti seuraavana vuonna töihin Amerikkaan ja huhtikuussa 1912 äiti, kaksivuotias Hildur sekä Eino-eno seurasivat perässä – laivaksi vain sattui valikoitumaan Titanic. Kaikki kuitenkin selvisivät haaksirikosta, mistä enemmän englanninkielisellä välilehdellä.
