Henry Fox, Jr., Esq.

Henry Fox II, was sheriff of King William County in 1724 and 1725, and a vestryman of St. John's Parish in 1730, (Later Brunswick County) until May 10, 1731 when he left the parish. He was a Justice of the Peace for King William County in 1726. He moved to Brunswick County where on April 22, 1732 he was appointed a justice for the newly created county, and was made a presiding Justice of the County Commission for the Peace. In 1732 he was designated to represent the County in the House of Burgesses. He first appeared in the vestry books for St. Andrews Parish on July 4, 1733, and was last mentioned on October 13, 1735.

Henry Fox was born in 1674 in New Kent, King Queen, Virginia Colony, the son of Henry Fox and Anne (West) Fox.

He was the brother of Richard Fox, Thomas Fox, John Fox, Anne Fox and David Fox.

Henry first married Mary Kendrick around 1697 in New Kent. Virginia Colony. She died in 1704.

Henry married second Mary Claiborne in 1705 in New Kent, Virginia Colony. They had at least the following children:

1. William Fox
2. John Fox

Henry died in 1750 in Brunswick, Virginia Colony. [1]

Datafield for birth has "New Kent, King and Queen County, Colony of Virginia". New Kent County was formed in 1654; King and Queen County was formed from New Kent County in 1691.[2] New Kent is the county seat of New Kent County.[3] Pictures attached are for King William County, which was formed from King & Queen County in 1701/2. Brunswick County (in death place datafield) was formed from Prince George County in 1720.

• from researcher Jodie Streit: Henry may have had only two marriages. According to "The Fox Line", Bulletin of Gen. Society of Old Tryon County., North Carolina, Vol XII #1, February 1984, by H. E. Hubbard, children of the first marriage (Mary Kendrick) were Henry Fox III, Joseph and Unity. Children of the 2nd marriage (Mary Claiborne) were John and William.
• According to researcher Johnella Boynton, a "Fox Hound," he (also?) lived in Brunswick County, Virginia.
• Dec 2013 - "the 'DNA' evidence is compelling that neither William Fox, who married Sarah Avent, or  Lt Col Richard Fox is a son of Henry Fox
