About ? Giustiniani da Venetia
Mentioned for the first time in BOL in 1622 as Justiniani iz Venecije. (NB the source of this information not given)
Listed in 1625 as a member of crew of the Brac war galley, being part of group 27 of the list of crew members from Nerežišća "Novačenje u Nerežišćima (Galeotti di Neresi)" is a "Justinijan iz Venecije" (Justinian from Venice,) This is the only crew member of group 27 listed without a surname, all the other crew members of group 27 were listed with both names and surnames.
The full list of crew members is quite extensive with crew members being identified by both first name and surname, often additionally giving the members father or brother, and occasionally a physical description. There are very few other instances of a crew member being without a surname - Those without surnames are listed by name and place of origin e.g. "Ivan from Šibenik", There are no instances in the crew list where only a surname is used to identify a crew member.
The above was extracted from the monograph by Andre Jutronić on the Brač war galley of 1625, this work which was published in 1969, is based on the manuscripts of Juraj Mladinić-Mladineo of Pučišća, and which are to be found in the Museum of Archeological Monuments in Split . In that manuscript, written in Venetian dialect (Italian) he is referred to as "Giustinian da Venetia"
Jutronić "Momčad bračke ratne galije godine 1625" prema rukopisu suprakomita Jurja Mladinea, Starine JAZU, knj. 54, Zagreb 1969.

However a Giustiniani da Venetia, is not quenstioable that he was came and descendant from Giustinian(i) family from Venice, question is from which exact family branch. Surname Giustinian was written and mentioned in records in few forms as: Giustinian, Giustiniani, Justiniani,..., it is a same family surname (see: Giustiniani).
