OBITUARY. Greymouth Evening Star, 29 April 1920, Page 5
"MR G. SCOTT-ROBERTSON. A great loss has been sustained by the district and regret will be felt in the whole of South Westland at the news of the sudden death of a Stirling South Westland resident, Mr. George Scott- Robertson which took place at Dr. Teichlemann’s private hospital, Hokitika on Monday evening. The deceased was brought up from Hari Hari in Sunday evening for medical attention his condition then being critical, which resulted in a collapse after arrival, passing away shortly afterwards. The deceased was a native of Scotland and was 60 years of age. He was for some time a resident of Hokitika having a farm at South Spit, and in his younger days was a well-known athlete and sport, taking a prominent part in football and cricket. He later settled in South Westland teaching school at Hende’s Ferry where he was known as one of the best, and loved and respected by one and all. He did his utmost to push that part of the district, and his wise counsel and learning was always sought after. His sudden demise will be deplored by a wide circle of relations and friends. The deceased leaves three brothers, Lionel Hope Robertson, Public Works Department, Lahore India. Frank Robertson, Arundel Castle and Admiral Charles Hope Robertson Royal Navy, Portsmouth. The only relative residing in New Zealand is his nephew Mr. Arthur Scott-Robertson of Hallenstein Bros., Nelson. The greatest sympathy is extended to his bereaved wife and three sons and relatives in their sad loss."
