Chester Eugene married Martha Elizabeth McClendon. Together they had the following children: Oscar Leroy McClendon; Paul Lavon McClendon; Claude Eugene McClendon; Lucille McClendon; Theodore McClendon; Onita McClendon; Thurrell McClendon; J.P. McClendon; Clyde McClendon; Joyce Faye Lomax.
He died on March 14, 1945 in Poplarville, Pearl River County, Mississippi, United States.

Chester Eugene McClendon's obituary appeared in The Poplarville Democrat on March 22, 1945. There are several errors that I have corrected in parenthesis.
McCLENDON DIES AT HOME Funeral services were held at Oak Hill Church Sunday for Eugene McClendon, age 60 (59), who died at his home Wednesday (March 14, 1945) of last week as the result of a heart attack. Mr. McClendon had several heart attacks before that, but had thought that they were not serious. Services were conducted by Rev. T. R. Coulter. Interment was in the Oak Hill cemetery with Colonial Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. McClendon was born in April of 1885 (March 25, 1886). He had lived in Pearl River county throughout his life. By profession, he was a farmer and contractor, having built several of the buildings in Poplarville.
Besides his widow, Mr. McClendon is survived by the following children: Oscar, Claude, J. P., Therrell and Clyde McClendon of Poplarville, Paul McClendon of the Marine Corps in California, Theodore McClendon, who is in the service in Europe, Mrs. Luelle (Lucille) Smith, Oneta and Joyce Fay McClendon of Poplarville.
