About Frethaesant Paynell, Heiress
The original Manor House was built by the Luttrell family who owned the estate prior to 1419. Irnham was one of the fifteen manors given by William the Conqueror to Ralph Paganel, and it passed from his family via an heiress, Frethesant Paynel to her son, Sir Andrew Luttrell, Knight. --- Photo by Tim Heaton --- http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/106170
