Euphrosyne was the wife of Andronikos Doukas Angelos (and Alexios III Angelos), and mother of the emperors Isaac II Angelos.
Euphrosyne and Alexios III Angelos died in Arta, Greece in the year 1211-1212). Alexios III Angelos (c. 1153 – 1211), raised to sebastokrator by his brother Isaac II Angelos, usurped the throne from him in 1195. Generally an inept and pleasure-loving ruler, he reigned until he fled before the attacks of the Fourth Crusade happening in the year1203. Alexios III Angelos was the second son of Andronicos Angelos and Euphrosyne Castamonitissa. Andronicus was himself a son of Theodora Comnene, the youngest daughter of Emperor Alexios I Komnenos and Irene Ducaena.
Euphrosyne Kastamonitissa married Andronikos Dukas Angelos sometime before 1155. She died sometime after 1195.
