Elizabeth de Vere was born circa 1512 at Castle Hedingham, Essex, England.[2] She was the daughter of John de Vere, 15th Earl of Oxford and Elizabeth Trussel.[1]

She married Thomas Darcy, 1st Baron Darcy of Chiche, son of Roger Darcy and Elizabeth Wentworth. Her married name became Darcy.[1]
