Elizabeth Albama Schrimsher (Cherokee) was the daughter of Martin Schrimsher and Elizabeth Hunt Gunter; she had the following siblings: Susan J., John Gunter, Sarah Catherine, Margaret Lucretia, and Mary America Schrimsher who was the mother of William Penn Adair Rogers (Will Rogers).
She was the 3rd wife of John Lafayette Adair; they had one son: John Martin Adair who served with the Rough Riders under Theodore Roosevelt and who married and is buried beside his wife, Triphena Terrell, at Hendricks Cemetery, Cherokee Co., OK.
She was the 1st wife of Dennis Wolf Bushyhead Sr., Chief; they had the following children: Jesse Crary b. June 29, 1870 , d. July 12, 1942; Mary Elizabeth b. Dec. 13, 1873, married Thomas William Triplett; Sarah Catherine Bushyhead b. Oct. 09. 1876; and Dennis Wolf Bushyhead Jr. b. Apr. 11, 1880.
Elizabeth is listed on the 1851 Drennan Roll: Tahlequah, 374 as Eliza A. Schrimsher Jr.; 1880 Cherokee Nation Census: IL, 94 as E. A. Bushyhead; Clan: Red Paint (Gi-go-ne-li).
