Elidir "Ddu" is called 'Sir' in Lewys Dwnn, who calls him Knight of the Sepulchre (ii 57) and Knight of Cadiz (i p. 38). (Bartrum, Welsh Genealogies 300-1400, vol. 5 p. 329 fn. 1) REMARKS: Rowland's 'Pedigree of the Ancient Family of Dolau Cothi' page 9 states "who took the Cross and accompanied Richard Coeur de Lion in his crusade against the Sracens, and became Knight of the Sepulchre".

SURNAME: Investigate> Evan's 'British Genealogist' book 1 pages 6 and 220 state he was the first to assumed the surname of FitzUrien.
KINSHIP: Investigate> Dwnn's 'Heraldic Visitations of Wales' volume 2 page 52 gives him two daughters named Mawd and Elen, but which ones they are is unknown.
KINSHIP: Evan's 'British Genealogist' book 1 page 6 gives him a daughter named Jonet who was married to William ap Owain.
KINSHIP: Evan's 'British Genealogist' book 1 page 6 gives him a son named Rhydderch.
KINSHIP: Evans' 'British Genealogist' book 8 page H66 gives him additional daughters: Catrin, [unknown] who married Dafydd "Fychan" ap Dafydd ap Meurig "Gôch", and Margred who married Gwilym ab Einion ap Llywelyn ap Rhys ab Owain. It also gives him an additional son named Thomas who had a daughter Margred who married Hywel ap Llywelyn, brother of Sir Dafydd "Gam". They are all made children of Elsbeth ferch Seisyll. A daughter Gwladus who married Gwilym ap Llywelyn "Ddû" is also given, but she is the daughter of his son Philip.
KINSHIP: Buckley's 'Genealogies of the Carmarthenshire Sheriffs from 1539-1913' page 3 gives him an additional son named Thomas whose daughter Margred married Hywel ap Llywelyn, brother of Sir Dafydd "Gam".
KINSHIP: Thomas' 'Golden Grove MS' book 2 page A139 gives him additional daughters by Elsbeth ferch Seisyll (she is the only wife shown): Elen, Mawd, [unknown] who married Einion "Cest", and Jonet or Elen who married Maredudd ap Gruffudd of Brecon and William ap Benet ap Morgan "Fychan".
