  • "Edward Vose received his father's homestead farm in Feb. 1682.
    • The homestead was 100 acres and he resided there until his death.
  • He was a selectman in 1694 & 1695, filled the offices of constable, fence viewer, highway surveyor, and tithing man, and served on various town committees.
  • By his will, written Feb. 3, 1713,
    • he gave the larger part of the homestead to his son Nathaniel,
    • who was to allow, "an honorable & comfortable maintenance" to his other sons William and John;
    • the farm & house they were each occupying, and additional meadow, swamp & woodland.
    • To his daughters forty pounds each to be paid, one half in money & one half in cattle, by his sons.
    • To all the children of his daughter Jane, as they became of age, a good cow to be paid by nathaniel.
  • To Nathaniel his Bible, to Grace his bedstead and psalm book, &
    • the rest of his books to be equally divided among his children.

  • He was the son of Robert Vose and Jane (Moss) Vose.
  • He married Abigail Sharp.
  • Edward was a selectman in 1694-5, and at various times held the offices of constable, fence viewer, highway surveyor and tithing man. He also served on various town committees.
  • In his will, he gave the "larger part" of his homestead to son, Nathaniel, to allow him "an honorable and comfortable maintenance."
    • To sons William and John, he left the house and farm that each was living in at that time with additional acreage of meadow, swamp and woodland.
    • To daughters Elizabeth Wadsworth, Martha Wyatt, Sarah Babcock and Grace Palmer, 40 pounds each to be paid to them one half in money and one half in cattle by their brothers.
    • To all of his grandchildren ( as they came of age ) by his daughter Jane Houghton, a good cow, to be paid by son Nathaniel.
    • To Nathaniel, his great Bible, and to daughter Grace, his little bedstead and psalm book.
    • The rest of his books were to be divided evenly amongst his children.
    • His inventory amounted to 1760 pounds in real estate and 140 pounds in personal goods.   Family links
