Biography

Edmund Curd was born on November 12, 1772 in Goochland County, Virginia.
His parents were William Curd and Ann Curd (Warren).

  • According to the book, "The Curd and Allied Families", Edmond Curd was the founder of Wadesboro, once the county seat of Calloway County, Kentucky.
  • This is a well researched genealogy and DNA confirmed to be the male Curd line.

Edmund married Mary "Polly" Curd in 1818 in Robertson Co., TN. Together they had the following children:

  1. William Hardy Curd;
  2. Elizabeth Hollingsworth;
  3. Joel Hawes Curd;
  4. Edmund Grizzard Curd.

Edmund married Mildred Herriford on April 8, 1800 in Shelby County, Kentucky. Together they had the following children:

  1. Richard Curd 1801–1876
  2. Charles Curd;
  3. Sarah (Sally) Curd;
  4. Capt Edward Curd;
  5. Eliza Smith Starks;
  6. Jane Imes.

He died on August 18, 1846 in Wadesboro, Calloway, Kentucky, USA and was buried after August 18, 1846 in Marshall County, Kentucky, USA.



Long time CURD family researchers have stated that our Edmund once thought to be the son of Charles Curd Charles Curd was actually the son of his brother William and a second wife, Ann Warren.

All agree the parents of William and Charles is John Curd and Elizabeth Price. This line has been DNA confirmed for me on AncestryDNA with other CURD direct descendants. ~Cynthia Hicks Curtis
